Creating PDF in Quark XPress 6

Creating PDF Files from Quark Xpress 6:

Creating PDFs from Quark XPress 6 can either be done in three separate ways.

A) Print a Postscript file to disk and use Distiller to convert to PDF.
B) Export a Postscript file to disk and use Distiller to convert to PDF.
C) Exporting directly to PDF. This method is not recommended since it produces PDFs that are not as clean as the first two methods. Only use this if you don't have Acrobat Distiller.

1. Download Instructions for Quark and export to PDF
Although this method may seem the easiest, the Quark PDF Export filter doesn't always create clean PDFs. For best results we suggest that you create a Postscript file as indicated above and use Distiller to create your PDF. If Acrobat is not available than these instructions show the settings that will give the best results in OS X or Windows.
